After Words

Matthew 14
24: But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
25: And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
26: And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
27: But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
28: And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

Isn't it amazing how we seek for a Word especially when we are in a storm? When you are in a storm, another point to always consider is that one of the first prayers to pray is, Lord, let me come to where You are in this storm. It will take a miracle for you to get to where He is, but when He says, Come, you need to go immediately in His miraculous power!

29: And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

The Word of God empowers us to do what He commands. Jesus said that His words were spirit and life. (John 6:63) Whenever we are given a command by the Lord, we need to know that in the command is also the power to complete the task given. When the Lord says, Come, in His Word is the permission and power to perform imparted to you immediately because of your faith.

30: But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

The Word you received has the power to get you to your destiny only if you focus on God and not the situation. Sinking is a result of being distracted from God!

31: And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Jesus asked Peter this question because we all need to know WHERE in the situation we have doubted God. Get rid of the doubt by replacing it with unwavering belief in God. Then, step out again as Peter did!

32: And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

Many times the storm is only a test of your faith to see whether you have NO faith (completely doubting God's Word), WEAK faith (focusing on the problem more than God's promise), STRONG faith (focusing on God's promise more than the problem) or GREAT faith (God's Word given to you is the only requirement for you to believe, even if it seems as if the answer is going to be, No). Once God reveals to you your actual level of faith, then the storm will cease.

33: Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

Worship that recognizes that our Lord, Jesus Christ is the true and living Son of God is always in order.

Always remember that after any Word you receive from the Lord, there is a responsibility that you have! Your responsibility is God's expected response to your ability! You CAN do it for the LORD!!!

PRAYER:

Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ I come before You now asking that You, by Your sweet Holy Spirit give us the ability to do all that we need to do after You have spoken to us. We really want to please You in all we say and do. We ask for sensitivity to Your Holy Spirit that we may follow the Word that You give us to the end while only focusing on You and not our surrounding situation. Thank you for giving us what You have promised, after Your Word has been spoken. We look forward to seeing and enjoying Your beautiful gifts that You always give us. We love you SO very much! In Jesus' name we pray. It is so. Amen

If you are a sinner, please pray the following prayer and receive Jesus Christ into your life this very moment! He's waiting for you...

Father God, I come before you now in the name of Jesus Christ. I confess that I am a sinner and I want to be saved from my sins. I do not want to continue in this life of sin. Jesus Christ is Your Son and He died for my sins. Father, You raised Him from the dead!

Jesus, I want You! I really need YOU right now and forever! I invite You into my heart right now. I accept You into my heart right now. Come in and live in me now!

I believe that You have come into my heart and life!

Father, all these things I have asked and prayed in the name of Jesus Christ! Thank You for these and all other blessings! I will live for You and You alone! In Jesus Christ's name I pray, Amen!
