Holy Land Tour

A Proposed Schedule For The Feast of the Lord Tour in Spring 2008

Monday, Enroute
Depart aboard your overnight flight to Israel into Ben Gurion Airport.

Tuesday, Tiberias
Welcome to Israel! Upon arrival you will be met and assisted by a representative from Kenes International. Next, transfer to your hotel in Tiberias for dinner and overnight. Overnight, Tiberias.

Wednesday, Galilee
After enjoying a delicious Israeli breakfast, begin touring the beautiful Galilee. First visit Capernaum, the home of St. Peter and site of an impressive 1st century synagogue (Luke 4). It was from this city that Jesus did most of his work and performed many miracles. Continue to Tabgha, site of the multiplication of loaves and fishes (Matt. 14, John 21). Next, drive to the Mt. of Beatitudes, where our Lord gave the Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5:1-10). Afterwards, enjoy a serene Boat Ride on the Sea of Galilee. Continue down the Jordan Valley to Yardenit, the traditional baptismal site of Jesus Christ. Return to Tiberias for dinner and overnight. Overnight, Tiberias.

Thursday, Galilee/Jerusalem
This morning we will visit Cana, site of Jesus’ first miracle of turning water into wine at the wedding feast. Afterwards, proceed to the town of Nazareth, Jesus’ boyhood home. Drive past Mt. Carmel, where Elijah hid from King Ahab and contested the false prophets of Ba’al (Kings 1:18-42). Continue via the Jezreel Valley to Megiddo, also known as the site of the biblical Armageddon (Revelations 16:12-16). Next, travel to Caesarea Maritime. It is here where the gentiles first heard the good news from Peter and were baptized (Acts 10:24-28). Proceed to Jerusalem in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.Overnight, Jerusalem.

Friday, Jerusalem
After breakfast, begin the day’s tour with a panoramic view of the Old City from the Mount of Olives. Here we will stand where our Lord ascended to heaven (Acts I). View the olive trees (Luke 19:2 & Samuel I 15) that date back to the time of Christ. Take the historic Palm Sunday Road and walk down to the Garden of Gethsemane (John 18) between the ancient olive trees. Read the scriptures of Jesus’ prayer and take the time to reflect on the events that took place here. Proceed to the Garden Tomb for a moving visit and to take communion. Next, enter the Old City via St. Stephen’s Gate and visit the Pools of Bethesda where Jesus cured the cripple (John 4). Afterwards, visit Antonia Fortress, the remains of the ancient Judgement Hall of Pilate. Hear about those who conspired against Him and be reminded of His brutal meeting and humiliation. Next, walk down the Via Dolorosa and visit the Stations of the Cross. Afterwards, continue to the Western Wall, the only remaining structure left from the majestic Second Temple built by King Herod over 2,000 years ago. Continue to the Southern Wall Excavations and the authentic Wide Steps that led into the Temple’s inner courtyard. They are a silent witness to where Jesus so often walked on his visits to the Temple in Jerusalem. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Overnight, Jerusalem

Saturday, Qumran/Dead Sea
After breakfast, depart Jerusalem and drive via the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, to Qumran, site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found.  Continue to the Dead Sea’s shores and enjoy a float in the buoyant waters.  In the afternoon return to Jerusalem and proceed to the Garden Tomb for a moving visit and to receive communion. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Overnight, Jerusalem

Sunday, Jerusalem-Enroute
This morning we visit Mt. Zion. Enter the Upper Room where the disciple who Jesus loved laid his head on His breast and where later Thomas cried “My Lord and My God.” Here we will welcome a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit.  Depart Jerusalem and drive to Yad Hashmona, a Christian Village located atop the Jerusalem Hills, and visit the Biblical Garden. Learn how the ancient Israelites produced their wine and view the threshing floor, wine press, olive press and sheepfold. Break bread with the local settlers and listen to one of the locals telling the story of Yad Hashmona. Continue to the Elah Valley. This strategic area was wisely fortified by Rehoboam, and it was one of the largest areas to fall to the Babylonians during the invasion of Judah in the 6th century B.C. The valley is the site where the battle of David and Goliath took place. Continue to Jaffa (Joppa) and visit the house of Simon the Tanner, which is where Peter had his vision (Acts 9:43), and view the ancient port. King Solomon used this port to import Cedar tree logs to build God’s Temple in Jerusalem and also where Jonah boarded the ship before he was swallowed by the whale. Proceed to a local restaurant for a festive Farewell Dinner.  Return to your hotel for overnight. Overnight, Tel Aviv Vicinity

Monday, Enroute
Morning at leisure before transferring to airport for your return flight home.
